Default 2000 audi a6 takes very long time to start?

Hi, i have a 2000 auid a6, and one day i was trying to start it, but it wouldn't do anything, first i thought it was the battery, so i jumped it and it worked fine for a while, since then it's been taking a very long cranking time to start. I went to check my battery and it was normal. Lately i got a check engine light. the car usually starts fine at first, but after it gets warm, it takes forever to start. any ideas on what could be wrong would be appreciated
