Have a 1998 Dodge 2500 pickup and it doesn't idle anymore ..Have to keep

pressure on the gas peddle .? And when it warms up its hard to start...there is a new starter in it but dont understand the idleing problem and tough starting ?

is this a gas or diesel? i need to know which to offer any help, they have throttle position sensors, idle air flow motors, on the hard to start it could be an injector bleeding down, a starter isnt going to help either of these. when its hard to start does it just crank or does it drag like a battery? if a diesel check the glow plugs,and the pumps. is the engine light on?
