Some states insist on a truck purchasing their tag and displaying it in order to operate in that state, even when they are based elsewhere and only enter that state once in a while. It occurs to me that the rules for Oregon may be very strict.
The other idea is more strange, ie, that registering the truck in Oregon saves them money (there is a reason most freighters that ply the ocean are flagged in places like Liberia, and it has to do with no questions asked and cheap rates). I will start to take note of this in the future, though. |
