I have a 1986 gmc s15 truck brake trouble?

I have a 1986 gmc s15 truck brakes work ok but pedal has to pulled up by foot i have to add fluid maybe once a month does anyone know whats wrong .if i take it to a mechanic being im a women they will charge me a fortune so please help me.

take it to shop before you kill yourself or someone else..ask friends/coworkers where they go...
