hi people my honda civic 1995 wont stay ignited when i turn the key to start it?

i have to hold the key so that the engine could keep running. can u guys help. it starts normally but i have to hold the key in order to keep the engine turning.

I hope your starter is not still turning over when you are holding the key. If so, it won't last long. From what you describe, it sounds like your ignition switch needs replacing.
