Jeep is a very good starter car, reliable, safe... BUT they suck up gas like nothing else, and for those of you who say "too open" THEY MAKE MORE THAN JUST A WRANGLER. I have a cherokee and it is great. I even think the wranglers are good, just get a hardtop, dont have to worry about them puttin the top down than as it takes 2 to 3 people to pull a top off and a lot of tools. 4wd for winter, great heat, good ac, no problems and i abuse the piss out of mine, i trail ride it/off-road it every weekend. Only problem i had was the cat converter(jeep issue) and fuel pump. They are not as tippy as every one thinks. We have not rolled one yet in our group and we have had them almost 90 and on 60 degree slopes. Just dont run it like a damn racecar and you wont have a problem. Thats what swaybars are for.

a large gas guzzler, if you can afford to fuel it.
A Honda fit or Toyota would be a better car for everyone.

sure, if you're not worried about gas prices or tipping over, they are good off roaders though
