When i push the switch up i can hear it click. I have a volt amp meter can I use it to test my problem if so how?

There's a plastic part internal to the motor's gears that is designed to break apart if the motor gets overloaded. I just replaced mine on a Ford Crown Vic and had to remove the inner door panel, then raise the window manually and remove the motor. Or you can replace the whole motor for $60. But the job wasn't easy. Total cost for a shop to repair (not the dealer) is $250.
