When I turn my 1997 Lincoln Towncar off the air in the air suspension goes down why?

The air suspension only goes down when the car is off for a while like a couple of hours. No warning light is coming on, on the dash.

Could be a bad pressure relief valve on the pump. Probably a leak in the lines, shocks or fittings---have it checked out by a shop or spray some soapy water on the fittings and lines to check for a leak.
