BMW or Mercedes Benz

Mercedes (obviously, I own an ML500).

I prefer the styling, esp. of the cars, and I like the "hammer" drivetrains over the smaller but highly refined BMWs.

Both are excellent marques.

Given that the pricing, performance, customer service, etc, are similar, I think styling is the deciding factor, plus model selection (Mercedes almost always has a wider spread of models).

I like both and as tripleback pointed out, both are excellent cars. From a sheer performance and handling perspective, BMW is clearly my preference!.
