1994 Nissan Altima Weird Sound..?

I have a whirling sound coming from around the alternator but we just replaced it, today. Any ideas on what the sound is?
well, it is continuous. as soon as i start the car it begins and it stops when i turn the car off. it sounds like its come off of the alternator. but assuming we changed the alternator, its not that. it just sounds like a whirling, fan noise.

could be the idler pulley. too many options to really say, not with the info you provide. but that's the easiet and cheapest fix.
