Default What Was The First Car You Ever Owned? Tell Us About Your First Ride?

My first car was actually a truck. It was a 1956 Ford F150 pickup to be exact. I bought it when I was 14 with big plans of swapping in a 350 chevy engine, 350 turbo transmission and Ford rear end. Over the next two years I managed to save and scrap enough money to get the drivetrain installed. Instead of the 350 chev engine, I ended up swapping in a 283 cubic inch small block from a 1969 2+2. Nice fit.

Sold the truck, just before I turned sixteen and bought myself a peppy 304 V8 AMC Gremlin. Now that could move. Headers, 4 barral carb and a set of wide tires on the rear to help get it planted. I had a blast beating the guts out of it until one night I lost control one night and planted it in a ditch. While I managed to walk away unhurt, it was the end of the line for my Gremlin. To my utter dismay, she was completely written off and beyond repar.

I guess you could say the Gremlin was really my first car since its the one I got my license on and it's the first one I ever owned and drove. Itys surely the one I miss the most! One thing I know for sure, it had alot more power than I had common sense back then.

My first car was a 1998 Crown Vic, which I bought from my Aunt for 600$, in fairly good shape. Had to swap out the Spark Plug wires, battery ends, Battery itself, Front blinkers, Hi beams, Buff the Car out (Sat in the sun for 2 years), Replace dry rotted tires, Belts, and clean out Sun Gain (Yes! The Cleaning Detergent!) + Charcoal which fused in the back seat somehow over the past 2 years, huge puddles in the passenger front seat floorboard and back seat.

Absolutely fun.

Mine was a 1976 Chevy Nova with no interior door handles. Other than that, nothing wrong with the interior. Outside, it had the spray can touch.

My first car was a 1948 Cadillac limo that cost me $350.00 in 1965. Drove it to college for four years.

My first car was a Dodge Duster. Gosh, I had forgotten all about that car.

Reggie, sure bet you do! Just think how much money that Ford Fairlane would be worth today.
