Default So how was your fourth?

How was everyone else's 4th of July? We blew off a ton of fireworks, had a huge cook out with Hamburgers and Hotdogs, and just laid back. What about you all?

Pretty much the same, just a cookout, couldn't see any fireworks unless you count lightning as fireworks. The local show was rained out.

Our show was rained out too, unfortunately. However we did cook a huge hog over the period of like 12 hours in a smoke pit, was alot of labor doing that. Over all though, not bad.

Default Smithville TN Fiddler's Jamboree

Sold our artwork at the Smithville Fiddler's Jamboree. Great show, all acoustical music, over 6000 contestants and about 30,000 in the audience both days - lots of fun, first rate blue grass...

Even if you DON'T like country music, this transcends the electronic media.

Goes right back to the roots of this country - to 16th century rural England, matter of fact.

Worth the trip. I'll do the same again next year.

Oh, I wouldn't say we didn't get rain - we got hit hard Satuday afternoon, killed sales that day (about 60% I'd say).

But Sunday was good.

When you do outdoor shows, you take the good with the bad.

I just buttoned up my tent and waited out the thunderstorms (we had 3 strong storms, one after another).

I just loved the music, though. Some of the contestants found shelter with the merchants, and played all through the rain.

Great stuff.
