I have a 00 toy Avalon that recently has lightrd up the check engine light, i am not a very mechanichally inclined person , the car doesnt seem to be running any diffrent than when i baught it a few months ago it has 135k I recently did an oil change any suggestions as I dont watto be taken advantage of at a shop here in San Antonio tx any ideas???please Help.

it could be many different things. could be a misfire or it could just be a o2 sensor. ask around for a engine diagnostic tool if your friends have one or not. if your a lady try to smooth talk someone a smaller garage. sometimes they will do it for free because if there is a problem you would get it fixed there maybe. heres what you do first if u cant get your hands on this tool: Take your battery NEGATIVE (-) the black wire off of your battery for a couple minutes. then reattach it a go driveing like you normally would. if it comes on again you need to get it check with the tool
